Why do a fashion Blog , I ask myself time and time again for 2 years everyone has a fashion blog, well YES AND???? If we constantly focus on others success and failures, we sometimes loose ourselves. The bottom line is I LOVE FASHION. I naturally stop and admire down to the stitching of garments and gaze at beautiful window displays. I walk into meetings and the first thing I do is analyse what everyone else is wearing. I’ve always known I wanted to do something fashion related but couldn’t focus on what exactly that was. After not getting into the Uni of my choice to do a Fashion Merchandising degree, I took a different path and ended up with an International Degree and unhappy with every career move I have made ever since. I’ve been modelling on and off, done a Visual Merchandising course; basically whenever I try to reassess what to do with my life, it always comes back to fashion. I believe my love for fashion stems from my culture. I am Jamaican by birth and grew up in Jamaica surrounded by the vibrant dancehall culture where creativity came to life as it was always about who wore the best outfits and they were mostly custom made and the ladies were bold and daring, my mother was one of those ladies. I love playing around with clothes and accessories to see what new look I can create and you will find that I am more drawn to more unorthodox styles. LeeAnne is my cousin and fashion soulmate, other's finish each other's sentences, we finish each others outfits!!! Whenever I am around LeeAnne I get a buzz for life, yeah I know, it sound a but melodramatic but its true, she is curvy and fabulous and she always looks amazingly unique and fashionable, she works with her body and goes beyond the boundaries and consistently breaks the stigma that curvier ladies have to dress less fashionably, so this union was inevitable; aesthetically we are total opposites but we share the same passion.
LeeAnne has wanted to be a blogger since she was 16, she told me that she obviously did not know it then as blogging wasn't a thing or maybe even invented at that point. She told me the story of wanting to go out one night and wanting to wear black glitter jeans, a pink shirt and a leopard print coat. New buys for 3 different outfits. Her BFF told her to wear them if she wanted to, yes! Altogether . And she said that was when she decided to throw away the rule book and wear what she wanted , when she wanted.
So she says now after 20 years, 2 kids, 5 stone and a whole lot of confidence, or should we say not giving a ****! She wants to show how curvy girls can rock it with their slim counterparts. This is no competition. Cousins, on totally different sides of the scale, encouraging supporting and pushing the boundaries and daring each other to be greater than the last outfit,.
So here we are, another blog, another blogger …the truth is we are not wealthy, just your average girl next door and we most probably be pictured in the latest Balenciaga shoes or Vetements coat but we will share our unique style, offer style advice and bring you our interesting finds; I hope you enjoy this journey with us and enjoy visiting our Blog.
XOXO
